Choose who, where, and when once.
Get an awareness nudge
When a friend is nearby and the moment is right.
Open a thread
Connect in the moment. It closes itself after.
Pause anytime
One tap. No explanation needed.
Presence is free to start. No advertising, no selling your data. We'll share more about how it works when we're closer to launch.
Find My and Life360 share your location continuously so someone else can check it whenever they want. Presence is the opposite there's no map, no dot moving in real time, no history, no way to check on you. The only thing that happens is an awareness notification when a moment you already agreed to is happening. You set the conditions. The app waits. When everything lines up, it speaks once.
Your control
You're never locked in. Pause a rule for an hour, a day, or indefinitely. Delete it entirely. Pause all sharing at once with one tap. Remove a friend. None of these actions notify anyone. Silence is always an option the app is designed so that stepping back never requires an explanation.
Your friend doesn't see the rule. They don't know when you set it, what conditions you chose, or which places you included. What they do know: you're connected on Presence, which means you wanted them to be aware when you're nearby. The rule lives on your side. Your friend only ever sees what it shares and only when it fires.
How it works
We call this the Truth Line the exact same sentence on every notification: "[Name] is in [City]. Nothing else." That last part is intentional. It's a promise, not punctuation. Not your street, not the specific place you're at, not how long you've been there, not where you're headed. City level. That's it.
You have to arrive and stay for at least 30 minutes (so a layover or drive-through doesn't count), your rule's time window has to be active, and your friend has to be in the same city too. All three at once. Presence only fires when the moment is genuinely right not every time you cross a city line.
Privacy & data
Presence checks whether you're in the same city as a friend not your street, not your building, not your route. It only looks at your location to evaluate whether your rule conditions are met. When they're not, nothing happens. When they are, your friend gets one piece of information: that you're in the same city. Then the app gets out of the way.
We store only what's necessary to make the app work your phone number, your rules, your connections. We use it to run Presence. That's the whole list. No advertisers, no third-party data brokers, no profiling. If you want the full version, read our privacy policy we wrote it in plain language for exactly this reason.
Nothing came up for that.
